Tony Bissell

Tony Bissell is the CEO, Founder, and Principal AI Engineer of Teal Robot, an AI consultancy. They help clients define AI strategy, build and deploy the full-stack systems behind it, and recruit and mentor the engineering teams that carry the work forward.Prior to founding Teal Robot, Tony was Principal Machine Learning Engineer at SiriusXM and Pandora, where he helped build the company's scalable AI and machine learning infrastructure.

Before SiriusXM, Tony spent five years at Amazon leading the research team behind the international and domain expansion of Alexa's natural language understanding. He also held data science leadership roles at several technology startups and in government consulting at health agencies. His work produced 4 issued U.S. patents in natural language understanding and dynamic system response configuration.Tony holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University, where his doctoral research identified computational approaches to species-specific antimicrobial drug discovery.
